| its been so long just too lazy...
E3, electronics entertainment expo, has come and gone. perhaps the biggest conference for video games of the year, it experienced a major change in format but it is still the place to be for new news on video games. as an avid video gamer myself i have been following the events that have occurred within the week. this year it was mainly a way for the three consoles, xbox360, ps3, and wii, to gain a better foothold onto the industry. i believe the console wars has officially started, excluding the wii but more on that later. it was an exciting e3 with big news and big arguments. what follows is my analysis of the separate conferences for microsoft, sony, and nintendo. honestly i am a little biased to ps3 considering i own one but i have attempted to make most of my observations fair.
microsoft aka M$ -considering they are currently leading the next-gen consoles, microsoft didn't bring much to the table. i'll admit they had the best speakers of the three conferences but it felt like they spent most of the time trying to suck in younger gamers with kiddie games like viva pinata and such. rather boring although they did have some nice demonstrations of COD4 and assassin's creed, both of which caused me to drool slightly. announcements like the exclusive COD4 multi beta and halo 3 seriously made me want a xbox360 but i considered that they are made by the same company as the windows makers so most of the games on x360 like bioshock and gears of war are coming to the PC anyway, why waste another $500? it bothered me that M$ was toting all these statistic about how much more the 360 has sold compared to other consoles. well obviously, the 360 has been out for a year longer than the ps3 and wii. overall, besides a few games and CRYSIS for PC, not too great for M$.
nintendo aka the big N -i used to be a huge nintendo fanboy. mainly because i grew up playing snes and n64. now i look at nintendo and i see barely anything. their conference started off with them showing clips of several media outlets talking about the wii and ds and how it has become such a craze around the world. than an eloquent but boring speaker started talking about the wii and thats when i tuned out. well it was more like 5 minutes after he started talking that i tuned out because it seemed he would be talking nonstop for the next 30 minutes. they showed a few games but nothing like the depth of M$ and to me most of the news was not that exciting. as usual most of nintendo's games were aimed at the younger generation and some of their new paraphernalia seemed cool but unnecessary. I'll admit flat out i have no interest in the wii, but i don't see it as a failure for nintendo. the speaker made a good point when he said because of the wii's innovative style, the video game industry would experience a boost in gamers of different age and sex. i believe it will help in some ways, its just that it won't help me. the wiimote seems like a gimmick and a fad that will eventually die out, also coupled with the fact that graphics are CRAP on the wii. sure people argue that gameplay is more important but two years from now they'll be singing a different tune when they realize how ridiculous wii games look compared to the xbox360 and ps3. sure its cheap and sure it will still have some of the best games in the industry (mario, zelda, metroid) but all i see with the wii is a gamecube with a fancy controller. oh yeah, super smash bros finally comes out, on my birthday too! whoohoo!
sony aka $ony -i feel like harry potter did in order of the phoenix when no one believed that voldemort was back. doubts, doubts and more doubts have swirled around the controversial release of the ps3 and after almost a year since, people are still bashing it and its future. saying it will fail is just plain ignorant. if anything it will be second to xbox360 but not behind the wii. sure the games havent been all too good but thats the case with any new console. it takes time for developers to get used to the console and make quality games. such was the case when xbox360 first came out, now look how well its doing. the mistake that i think $ony made is they shortened their target audience drastically by making such a technological beast that costs a fortune. as of right now i only see hardcore gamers and sony loyalists buying the ps3 mainly because of its price. the wii is cheap and caters to all gamers thus it will sell more and be more popular. sure the ps3 will empty all of your piggy banks but you get what you pay for and ive just got to say this to all those people who are complaining about the price and how sony will lose because they are evil: -if you can't afford it, don't buy it. so what if you wont be able to play, its not the end of the world -sony is not forcing you to buy the ps3, they cant considering they don't have a monopoly on the video game industry. its competetive so go out and buy a wii or xbox360 if you are short on cash -speaking of the xbox 360 if you add all the costs of the hd drive, hard drive, xbox live, wifi, and other stuff that every ps3 comes with, you'll end up seeing that the 360 costs about the same as ps3 - $ony is losing money with every ps3 they make so consider this before whining about the cost
anyway that was my little defensive rant about why the ps3 is alive and kicking much like how voldemort was in book 5, not to imply that the ps3 is anything like voldemort. the $ony conference was the better of the three but nothing too new and exciting. sure the MGS4 trailer was awesome but still no gameplay footage. besides killzone2 which was absolutely freaking MINDBLOWING, mnost of the games i had already seen on M$ conference
well now i'm spent. i hope to be back after ive read HP 7 and write about my thoughts on that but until then, BACK TO DEADPOOL!

| what a summer. spiderman 3, shrek 3, pirates 3, bourne 3, oceans 3, etc.......................................................... dont get me wrong i love sequels only because i get somewhat attached to the characters and like seeing more of them. but sometimes i think hollywood should stop.
-spiderman 3 - okay so most people didnt like the third movie, personally i thought it was good. sure it didnt have the action of the first two and it had some weird parts but i liked seeing the more emotional part of spiderman and his struggling life. the thing about spiderman movies is it never gets old because there is so much substance to draw from that you could make ten movies and still have good stories and villains. heres to spiderman 4 and rhino.
-shrek 3- I admit spiderman was also a victim of greedy producers as was shrek. but at least spiderman had a good story to back it up. shrek 3? i loved the first movie, thought the 2nd was good but felt like they were stretching the story a little. considering how much money the first two made, it was inevitable that a third one was on the way. i wont lie and say ive seen shrek 3 because i havent but i'm really afraid too. honestly, what else is there to tell? clearly this movie was made solely for the purpose of making money and nothing else. unfortunately it will, actually it already has (120 million opening week), so regardless of how bad the story is or how stale the jokes are getting, there will be a shrek 4 and at that point people need to understand that its okay to boycott hollywood
-pirates 3- i'm really looking foward to this movie only because the 2nd movie left us at such a cliffhanger. smart move on hollywood. i'm not sure but i don't think they planned on making three, i believe they scripted the next two because the first did so well. this makes sense considering how well the first one ended, there didnt seem to be any story left to tell. not that i mind because i think the story for the third one sounds much better than shrek 3. but pirates is a victim of greedy hollywood too because who can watch the second movie and not watch the third movie. the two go so well together.
and now i raise my glass to Die Hard 4, Rambo 4, and Harry Potter 5
so i went to the pga tournament at&t classic today. i gotta say, even though it was hard to see the ball most of the time, the atmosphere of being there live was fascinating. of course thats true for any sport, watching on tv will give you the best view but people go to see it live for the noise, the excitement, and the players which you cant experience at home. its like going to a baseball game where only about 5 people are actually paying attention. everyone else it just talking or drinking, occasionally standing up when something happens. interesting.

| wow i just rode my bike in the middle of the night. i felt so free. its awesome because there were no cars and it was quiet and slightly chilly. definitely a must do for anyone. consequently, i'm pooped so i'll have to share my thoughts about life after i get some sleep

| so the big news is, at least in the nba world, the suns and spurs game. interesting turnout considering bad blood had been evident from the beginning of the series. the bruce bown kick on stoudamire is sketchy. it looked purposeful to me but i think the call could have gone either way. beside, bowen has a bad history about fouling players. the steve nash bloody nose was purely accidental and it was actually nash's fault was reaching in and trying to steal the ball, just got unlucky. ginobli's eye poke was accidental too. the horry shoulder check was definitely a foul, maybe not as bad as it was made to look, but a foul nonetheless. regardless of how bad the foul was it was what happened afterwards that got me mad. horry probably got what he deserved but luckily for the spurs, he isnt that important to the team. stoudamire and diaw walk onto the court after nash is knocked down, they get pulled back but hours later the nba suspend them. stoudamire is the star big man of the suns and diaw is a close second. so the upshot of horry's foul is that the spurs get the advantage by playing a suns team without two of their best. seem fair? its not but unfortunately thats life. i'm believe the suns will lose now. too bad. go cavaliers.
hmmm, lets talk harry potter. book 7 is coming soon and i'm very excited. excited to read that harry dies. yes harry will die. he has to die.i foresee a happy ending but considering how gloomy the whole series has been, especially the last two books, a perfectly happy ending with ron and hermione together and harry killing voldemort and marrying some girl, probably ginny, seems unlikely. it would be too much of a fairytale and i think rowling is going more for the realistic fantasy if that makes sense. killing off the sidekicks... not going to happen. killing off some other important or favorite character, such as neville, draco, snape, lupus, etc... highly likely. voldemort will most definitely die unless rowling plans on continueing the series which will never happen unless someone pays her billions to write more. anyway, here are my predictions: - Harry dies, most likely a very noble death saving someone and killing voldemort or just killing voldy. - snape is good, yes im optimistic but he had a plan with dumbledore, he has yet to show his true importance in the story. - this is obvious but wormtail will somehow help harry considering harry saved his life. as stated earlier in the series a wizard needs to return such a favor, unless rowling just forgets about this. - horcruxes will be destroyed, myabe not all by harry and co. but yeah - RAB, someone in sirius' family - neville, his story isnt over yet - rowling claimed she would end the series at 7 but a spinoff is possible considering how popular the books are. money is a powerful incentive and it will be either her publishers or herself who decides the world of magic has a lot of potential. i would also like to see more of the story, maybe about different characters or the future or some prequel, anything, just because rowling has managed to create such a creative world.
so those are my predictions and all of them have been theorized, disproved and approved. but whatever the result is, i sincerely hope rowling surprises me on a few of these predictions just because it would be a whole lot better that way.
its a dirty world out there, everyone should be careful

| back for round 2 and its a long one
i was looking back at some of my older weblogs on xanga and realized how immature i was. its like picking up a story you wrote in middle school and saying "i wrote this?" only these blogs were from 10th grade. hmm.
to start off i'd like to state my great interest in the NBA, as any fool knows the nba playoffs are going on right now and i'm caught up in all the action. unfortunately it has not gone well for my bracket. miami, dallas, and the rockets, three teams that i was rooting for have been eliminated and now i'm left with phoenix and cleveland. thankfully, i predicted that phoenix would win from the start and i still believe so. anyway heres my opinion of the four series going on.
-Phoenix Suns vs San Antonio Spurs after yesterdays game i'm sure of it, phoenix will win the finals. i admit san antonio is a great team and duncan still needs to be stopped but phoenix is my pick and i'm sticking with it. this series has been my personal favorite to watch just because both these teams have the potential to win.
-Golden State Warriors vs Utah Jazz Ugh! i really hate these two teams. the warriors knocked off the mavericks and the jazz knocked off the rockets. why? not because they were better, only because of the STUPID THREE! both teams play in the style of run the court and shoot as many threes as possible. i admit this is an effective style if executed properly but it is absolutely no fun to watch and doesnt require much team work. golden state beat dallas with the threes and utah did the same with houston. i hate it when teams win like that so both these teams are my least favorite. but still i prefer utah over golden state just because golden state sucks and they somehow beat the best team in the nba.
-Chicago Bulls vs. Detroit Pistons I hate rasheed wallace. i hate rip hamilton, i hate tayshaun prince, i hate chauncy billups. thats pretty much all the pistons' starters. yes, i really dont like the pistons (not as much as golden state) but i'll be the first one to agree that they could win it all. they have the skill and the bulls had no chance of winning. for the bulls, getting past miami was lucky enough, detroit is another story.
-Cleveland Cavaliers vs. New Jersey Nets Vince carter, jason kidd, and richard jefferson? on paper the nets are a champion team, too bad they cant live up to the hype. they got the talent but they dont have the team. i dont like the nets too much and hopefully the cavaliers will win, although i think its a toss up right now.
phew! that was exhausting, now on to more important matters: my diagnosis on the different types of dung. anyone can agree that not all poops were made the same. some are small, some are large, some are round, and some are long. to help determine which kind of poop you excrete i have compiled a list. i read something like this on another site but i cant find it and i dont remember much of wat it said, only that it was very informative.
trite dung - this is your average dung that appears most and doesnt have any special characteristics. it has that nice brown color that makes it look somewhat like brownies.
bomb dung - these are the small, roundish poop that shoots out in little pieces and splashes the toilet water all over your butt cheeks. quite annoying but they make a funny sound when they fall.
Brobdingnagian dung - the epitome of dung is represented by this dung. everyone's had it and everyone knows how uncomfortable it is. this is your long, thick dung that is sometimes so long that by the time it hits the bottom of the toilet bowl, the other end is still inside your anus. often times you have to sit up a little and shake your bottom to detach the rest of the turd. also it so big that you have to chop it up into little pieces before flushing for fear that it could clog up the toilet.
retirement dung - this is when you have so much in your bladder that it takes ages for all of it to come out. by the time you walk out of the bathroom, you're old enough to retire. this dung requires several flushes in one sitting to prevent the toilet from clogging.
shrek dung - green dung
dung the ripper - dung that rips your ahole coming out. not pleasant and not fun to clean.
pee dung - commonly known as diarrhea, it feels like peeing, only from your butt. these tend to smell the worse too.
teeth clencher - constipation at its worse. nothings worse than having to dump a Brobdingnagian dung but not being able to. by the time anything does come out, your butt muscles are so numb, it feels like you've been trying to crack nuts with them.
constipated diarrhea - doesn't exist? sure it does. its basically diarrhea that won't come out. it sucks because once you've waited an hour and finally released everything, you barely feel any better and will likely have to go back sooner than later.
should i stop? no so, barack obama, interesting guy. i saw him on abc the other day and he is an amazing speaker. seems very intelligent too. only problem is he supports affirmative action. why would anyone agree that affirmative action is good? the country is trying to get rid of racism and this is doing the exact opposite. sure it gives underprivileged kids the chance to do something with their lives but are blacks the only poor kids? its prejudice and i believe defeats what this country stands for. dont get me wrong i would much rather have obama than hilary. i dont think obama would ruin the country, he may actually improve the general status. but affirmative action just doesnt agree with me.
lets see... global warming...does not exist. for 11 years of school i was taught about global warming, the causes and consequences. I was very much scared of global warming for most of my life. now for these past two years of school i have realized the truth, that there is now such thing. melting ice caps? increasing temperatures? rubbish. yes, parts of the polar ice caps are melting but most of it is actually growing, yep, growing. yes, temperatures are increasing in the big cities but the earth as a whole is getting colder as earth is moving toward another ice age. want more info? read State of Fear by michael crichton. i dont agree with everything thing he says in that book and i do believe he has an agenda even though he claims he doesnt but i agree that the government has highly exaggerated global warming to scare us. scientists are always saying the earth is getting hotter but most of these scientists are being funded by the government. they all have an agenda. its hard to get any unbiased information in today's technological world so the best way to figure out if you believe in global warming is to do the research yourself and come to your own conclusion. happy hunting.
have i reached page 100 yet? i'm probably close so i'll stop here. the sun sets on the curve
